brush brush - A monthly watercolor botanical illustration lesson by Shiho Sakurai, learning from the basics.

The final part of this five-part course will involve participants completing their own original stamps using a motif of their own choosing.
We will carefully discuss with each participant and give advice on key points to keep in mind when drawing flowers and botanical patterns, as well as tips on which angles to cut from to create a balanced drawing, so even those who are new to illustration can participate with confidence.

【curriculum】
Part 1: Watercolor techniques, how to use tools, and coloring (Anemone and green wreath)
2nd: Turkish bellflower and poppy 3rd: Lily and lavender 4th: Rose and cosmos 5th: Free assignment (stamp design)
*For those who have been taking lessons since last year, you will start coloring right away in the first lesson.
*The plant illustrations you completed in the 5th session will be cut out, processed into data, and handed over to you. (Please print the stamps yourself.)

Shiho Sakurai Profile

Graduated from the Department of Sculpture, Faculty of Fine Arts, Tokyo University of the Arts. After working as an art teacher and product developer for baby products, he became a freelancer.
She creates works that incorporate hand-drawn illustrations and hand lettering, and in addition to original items, she also designs logos and textiles.
