A workshop on origami and modern Japanese calligraphy led by calligraphy artist Sachiko Harada.
Origata is one of the etiquette of the samurai society with a history of over 600 years, and is also the origin of origami. In the past, Japanese people lived an everyday life where they could tell what was inside a gift just by looking at how it was wrapped. In Japan, writing culture used the four treasures of ink, inkstone, brush, and writing brush, the four treasures of the study, as communication tools, and people lived through handwritten letters instead of today's smartphones and emails.
In this workshop, we will introduce the world of "The Four Treasures of Stationery Wrapping" using fashionable wrapping supervised by the Origata Design Institute while enjoying modern Japanese calligraphy.
